Refusal of carriage

Reasons for exclusion from transportation – aggression, intoxication, non-cooperation

Passengers are expected to behave respectfully at all times and follow the instructions of the check-in staff and security control personnel, as well as other airport representatives involved in the handling process. Aggressive or inappropriate behavior may be considered a potential threat to flight safety and can result in denied boarding or removal from the flight, in accordance with the airline's Conditions of Carriage, without entitlement to refund of the ticket price or any related travel costs.

Passengers, who show signs of being under the influence of alcohol or drugs, whether during the check-in process or later when boarding the plane, might also be refused travel. The effects of alcohol and drugs can intensify during a flight and pose a safety risk. The most common cause of intoxication is alcohol, followed by so-called soft drugs.

Possible reasons for denying a passenger air transport in accordance with the airline's Conditions of Carriage:

  • excessive alcohol consumption, use of psychotropic substances and other drugs,
  • inappropriate behavior towards passengers or staff, including hostility, shouting, swearing, threats, or physical or verbal abuse,
  • intentional failure to comply with instructions and guidelines,
  • unjustified repeated delays caused to airport staff during any stage of the handling process,
  • refusal to adjust hand luggage in accordance with the carrier's Conditions of Carriage,
  • refusal to pay required fees,
  • refusal to cooperate or communicate in an honest and truthful way,
  • unauthorised audio/visual recording of staff or passengers without their consent.

In serious cases of violation of the Conditions of Carriage, air carriers reserve the right to permanently refuse future transport to passengers who have significantly violated any of the above rules.
