– Bratislava Airport will introduce six new flight routes and welcome a new airline as part of its summer flight schedule, which takes effect with the time change on March 30. The first direct flights from Bratislava to Bari and Milan-Malpensa will depart on Sunday, followed by a new route to Gdańsk, launching on April 1.

BRATISLAVA RECONNECTS WITH POLAND

"After seven years, Bratislava is once again connected to Poland via a direct flight to the beautiful city of Gdańsk. New Italian destinations include Bari and Milan-Malpensa, operated by Ryanair. Starting in June, seasonal flights will also connect Bratislava to Zadar (Croatia) and Skiathos (Greece). Later that month, Norwegian will join as a new airline, offering direct flights to Copenhagen,” said Dušan Novota, CEO and Chairman of the Board of M. R. Štefánik Airport. He highlighted that the summer flight schedule will be in effect from March 30 until the next time change, running through the end of October 2025.

DIRECT FLIGHTS TO CROATIA FOR SLOVAK TRAVELERS

Bratislava will once again offer a direct air connection to Croatia, specifically to the popular city of Zadar, located near the Makarska Riviera. This seasonal Ryanair flight will operate from June to September, alongside the new service to Skiathos. Additionally, charter flights to the Croatian island of Brač will be available through Satur Travel Agency.

NEW AIRLINE BRINGS DIRECT FLIGHTS TO COPENHAGEN

A significant addition this summer is the arrival of a new airline, Norwegian, marking the airport’s successful renewal of its partnership with the carrier after 11 years. Starting June 28, 2025, Norwegian will launch regular direct flights from Bratislava to Copenhagen, the capital of Denmark, operating twice a week.

INCREASED FLIGHTS TO ANTALYA AND ISTANBUL

Turkish airline Pegasus Airlines is increasing its flight frequency to Turkey. In addition to its year-round route to Istanbul (Sabiha Gökçen Airport), Pegasus will resume seasonal flights to Antalya in April, doubling service to four flights per week during peak summer months. This expansion will offer travelers more connections to Turkish destinations such as Izmir, Kayseri, and Ankara, as well as locations in the Middle East.

SMARTWINGS TO LAUNCH REGULAR FLIGHTS IN JUNE

Czech airline Smartwings, which primarily serves travel agencies, will also offer individual ticket sales. From June to September, Smartwings will operate regular flights from Bratislava to the Greek islands (Rhodes, Crete, Corfu, Zakynthos), Mallorca, Bulgaria’s Burgas, Cyprus (Larnaca), and Dubai.

RYANAIR TO OPERATE THE MAJORITY OF REGULAR FLIGHTS

Passengers traveling via Bratislava Airport can choose from 39 scheduled routes across 36 destinations in 17 countries, operated by six carriers: Ryanair, Pegasus Airlines, Wizz Air, Smartwings, Norwegian, and Air Cairo.

Ryanair remains the leading operator, offering 24 scheduled routes, including five newly introduced destinations: Bari, Milan-Malpensa, Gdańsk, Zadar, and Skiathos.

ELECTRONIC REGISTRATION REQUIRED FOR UK FLIGHTS

Starting April 2, 2025, all passengers traveling to the United Kingdom must complete an Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) at least three working days before departure. Travelers without an ETA will not be allowed to board unless they qualify for an exemption. Bratislava is connected to the UK via flights to London (Stansted and Luton), Manchester, Edinburgh, and Leeds-Bradford.

NEW CHARTER FLIGHTS FROM TRAVEL AGENCIES

This summer, in addition to scheduled flights, travel agencies will offer charter services from Bratislava to 43 destinations across 16 countries, operated by 14 different airlines. New additions to their offerings include flights to the Turkish cities of Alanya and Dalaman, as well as to Athens, Cairo, and other Egyptian destinations.

DIRECT FLIGHTS TO CAIRO AND NEW EGYPTIAN DESTINATONS

A new addition this season is a direct flight to Ain Sokhna, near Cairo, operated by Hydrotour Travel Agency. Another newly introduced Egyptian destination is El Alamein, further expanding the existing network of routes to Hurghada, Marsa Alam, and Marsa Matrouh.

NEW CHARTER AIRLINES Throughout the season, travel agencies will lease aircraft from 14 airlines for their charter operations. Aviation enthusiasts can look forward to seeing new charter carriers in Bratislava this year, including Air Nostrum and Electra Airways.
