Bratislava airport handled more than 450,000 passengers in 5 months of 2023

– BRATISLAVA – Slovaks are interested in air travel even at the beginning of the season, as evidenced by the number of passengers that M. R. Stefanik Airport handled this year. More precisely, in May, 124,270 passengers were served, including departures and arrivals. This is 24 % increase compared to May 2022. The renewal rate of the number of passengers for the same period from 2019 thus amounts to 74 %.

In the first five months of 2023, Bratislava Airport handled 452,647 departing and arriving passengers. Compared to the same period in 2022, this is a 39 % increase. In May, 2,333 take-offs and landings took place at the airport. In the first five months of this year, there were a total of 8,718 take-offs and landings.

Among the most popular destinations in May for regular transport, London has traditionally taken first place, followed by Milan in Italy and Malta. The other places were Skopje in Macedonia and Thessaloniki in Greece.

Exotic destinations such as Hurghada, Egypt and Antalya, Turkey dominate charter traffic. Ryanair, Wizz Air and Smartwings carried the most passengers in May.
