Air Cargo Transport at Bratislava Airport Increased by 86% in April
15. 05. 2025 – M. R. Štefánik Airport handled a total of 147,441 passengers on arrivals and departures in the month of April. At the same time, air cargo transport at Bratislava Airport saw a significant rise, increasing by 86% to 1,673 tons of handled cargo.

“In terms of passenger numbers, we achieved the highest April result in the last 6 years – 147,441 handled passengers, representing a 24% increase compared to April 2024,” stated Dušan Novota, CEO and Chairman of the Board of M. R. Štefánik Airport.
“Today, on May 15, we are celebrating one year of direct flights from Bratislava to Istanbul and Antalya with Pegasus Airlines, a significant contributor to the increase in passenger numbers at Bratislava Airport. The airline also offers connecting flights to destinations within Turkey (Izmir, Kayseri, Ankara, Bodrum) as well as to Middle Eastern countries (Kyrgyzstan, Georgia, Pakistan, and others),” added the CEO.
The most popular April destinations from Bratislava included London, Alghero, Hurghada, Milan, and Malta. The growth in April was also supported by new direct routes to Gdańsk, Bari, and Milan-Malpensa, launched by Ryanair starting in April.
During the first four months of the year (from the beginning of January to the end of April), Bratislava Airport handled a total of 421,248 passengers, which is 18% more than in the same period last year.
In April, there were a total of 2,166 flights at the airport (+3% vs. 2024), and from the beginning of the year to the end of April, over 7,000 flights have already taken place

Use of alternative transportation to the Airport
There is a public transport bus to M. R. Štefánik Airport no. 61 in the direction from the main railway station.
