Zadar

Zadar is a charming seaside city on Croatia’s Adriatic coast, combining thousand-year-old history, Mediterranean atmosphere, beautiful beaches and modern attractions. Flights from Bratislava

You can fly from Bratislava to Zadar with direct Ryanair flights. The route operates to Zadar Airport. The flight from Bratislava to Zadar takes approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes.

Transport from the airport

  • Bus – a bus connection operates from Zadar Airport to the city. The route runs via Gaženica port and the main bus station to the Old Town. The journey from the airport to the centre takes approximately 20 minutes and a one-way ticket costs €5. The price also includes luggage transport.
  • Taxi / private transport – taxi services are available directly in front of the terminal. The journey by car to the centre of Zadar takes approximately 20–30 minutes, depending on traffic. The taxi fare to the centre is usually around €30, with some services starting from approximately €26.
  • Transfer / shuttle – you can also use private or shared transfers directly to your hotel, the port or resorts around Zadar. This option is practical especially when travelling with larger luggage or continuing to more distant locations.
  • Car rental – you can rent a car directly at the airport. This is an ideal option if you plan trips to national parks, beaches outside the centre or other parts of Dalmatia.

What not to miss in Zadar

When visiting Zadar, you should definitely not miss these places and experiences:

  • Sea Organ – a unique architectural attraction on the waterfront, where waves create sounds resembling music.
  • Greeting to the Sun – a light installation next to the Sea Organ, especially beautiful after sunset.
  • Zadar historic centre – stone streets, squares, churches, Roman monuments and a typical Dalmatian atmosphere.
  • Church of St. Donatus – one of the city’s best-known symbols and an important example of pre-Romanesque architecture.
  • Roman Forum – remains of the ancient centre of the city, located directly in Zadar’s historic area.
  • Cathedral of St. Anastasia – the largest church in Dalmatia, with the option to climb its bell tower.
  • Kornati National Park – an archipelago with dozens of islands and bays, ideal for a boat trip.
  • Krka National Park – known for its waterfalls, nature and the possibility of a trip from the Zadar area.
  • Kolovare Beach – a city beach within walking distance of the centre, suitable for relaxing by the sea.
  • Croatian gastronomy – taste fresh fish, seafood, Dalmatian wines, olive oil, prosciutto, cheeses and traditional Croatian specialities.
