The inaugural flight of the new regular route Bratislava - Marsa Alam

01. 04. 2023 – BRATISLAVA – On Friday, March 31, a regular flight connection to the vacation destination of Marsa Alam, in Egypt started at M. R. Štefánik Airport in Bratislava. The line is operated by an airline company Air Cairo. Representatives of this airline together with the management of Bratislava Airport welcomed the first passengers who have travelled to the Egyptian resort.

At the same time, passengers could have refreshments or take photos at the photo walls. There will be regular flights to Marsa Alam twice a week, on Tuesday and Friday. Flights will be operated by Airbus A320-214 and modern Airbus A320 neo aircraft. On the first regular flight to Marsa Alam, 177 seats were sold out of the total capacity of 179 seats.

Martin Niklfeld, Area Manager, from the Air Cairo company stated on this occasion: “The entire Air Cairo team is happy that after the success of our regular route to Hurghada, we are opening regular flights Bratislava - Marsa Alam, thus enabling clients from Slovakia to travel to the popular resort at The Red Sea. The flights are also carried out thanks to the support of travel agencies Satur, Čedok and Bratislava Airport.”

The chairman of the board and general director of M. R. Štefanik Airport, Ing. Dušan Keketi adds: „Egypt is one of the most popular holiday destinations, the climate is great for travelling during the whole year here. I am glad that we can thus offer another regular flight destination to Egypt, which will be accessible from Bratislava. “

The summer resort of Marsa Alam lies approximately 250 km south of Hurghada where the Arabian Desert meets the Red Sea. The resort is ideal for lovers of windsurfing and diving. The coral reefs in this area offer abundant marine life. The flight to Marsa Alam takes approximately 4 and a half hours. Tickets can be purchased on the website: Air Cairo. Throughout the year, Air Cairo continues to operate regular flights to Hurghada as well.
