– Bratislava Airport continues to deliver exceptional traffic performance, recording triple-digit passenger growth every month since the start of 2026. Statistics May: Triple-Digit Passenger Growth Continues for Fifth Consecutive Month

“Driven by sustained triple-digit growth, Bratislava Airport is currently the fastest-growing medium-sized airport in Europe. This outstanding performance is primarily attributed to the expansion of scheduled air services following the launch of Wizz Air’s Bratislava base, combined with additional frequencies introduced by other airline partners,” said Dušan Novota, CEO and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Bratislava Airport.

Passenger traffic at Bratislava Airport has posted triple-digit year-on-year growth throughout 2026, increasing by 127% in January, 151% in February, 163% in March, 145% in April, and 131% in May. Between January and May, the airport handled a total of 1,438,478 passengers, representing a 142% increase compared to the corresponding period of 2025.

While Bratislava Airport continues to expand rapidly, overall passenger traffic across Europe has slowed following developments in the Middle East. According to ACI Europe statistics, European airports recorded an average passenger traffic decline of 0.7% in April, marking the first negative growth figure since the Covid-19 pandemic.

The airport’s busiest routes remained unchanged in May, with the highest passenger volumes recorded on services to and from London, Rome, Barcelona, Košice, Málaga and Warsaw.

Aircraft movements also continued to grow strongly. Bratislava Airport handled 3,797 flights in May, an increase of 55% year-on-year. Since the beginning of the year, total aircraft movements reached 14,093, up 49% compared to the same period in 2025.
