Passenger notice: Valuables should not be placed in checked baggage

26. 08. 2026 – When packing for your journey, remember that valuables, electronics, documents and other valuable personal belongings should always be carried in your hand luggage, which you should keep under your supervision at the airport and throughout the flight.

We therefore recommend that you do not pack the following items in your checked baggage:

• cash, payment cards and other valuables,
• travel and personal documents,
• jewellery, watches and items made of precious metals,
• mobile phones, laptops, tablets, cameras and other electronic devices,
• keys and other valuable personal belongings,
• important documents or items that are irreplaceable to you.

Once checked in, your baggage goes through several stages of handling and remains out of your supervision until you collect it at your destination.

If a passenger nevertheless places valuable items in checked baggage, the airline or airport will generally not be liable for their loss or damage. Liability rules and conditions may vary depending on the airline, so we also recommend checking your airline’s conditions of carriage before travelling.

Always keep your hand luggage under supervision

At the airport, during security screening, at the departure gate and on board the aircraft, always keep your hand luggage and personal belongings under supervision. Never leave your documents, wallet, mobile phone or other valuables unattended.

Before travelling to the airport, check not only the baggage size and weight limits set by your airline, but also where you have packed your most valuable belongings.
