DHL doubles Bratislava cargo flights from 10 to 20 per week
28. 09. 2026 – Air cargo operations at Bratislava Airport continue to grow. DHL, whose flights are operated by European Air Transport Leipzig and which accounts for 83% of the airport’s total air cargo volume, has significantly expanded its Bratislava operations since September.
The number of scheduled cargo flights has doubled from 10 to 20 per week, with new services to Brussels complementing the existing Leipzig operation.
From 6 September 2026, DHL doubled the number of cargo flights at Bratislava Airport from 10 to 20 per week. The number of weekly flights to and from Leipzig increased from 10 to 12, while eight new weekly flights to and from Brussels were added to the schedule.
The Leipzig services are operated by Boeing 757 and Airbus A300 freighters, while the new Brussels service is operated by a Boeing 737-800BCF, a dedicated freighter converted from the passenger version of the Boeing 737-800.
Scheduled departures to Brussels operate overnight on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays, with inbound flights from Brussels arriving in Bratislava on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Sundays. The service carries shipments originating from Austria, Hungary and the Czech Republic.

Air cargo volumes at Bratislava Airport continue to grow
Bratislava Airport is recording growth in air cargo alongside the strong performance of its other commercial aviation segments. During the first eight months of 2026, the airport handled 14,022 tonnes of air cargo, representing a 16% increase year on year.
European Air Transport Leipzig is the largest cargo airline operating at Bratislava Airport, accounting for 83% of the airport’s total air cargo volume. DHL’s scheduled cargo services connect Bratislava with the company’s wider European logistics network. Spare parts of various types are among the most frequently transported goods.
Connecting Bratislava with Leipzig and Brussels
Leipzig is DHL’s main European air hub. By expanding its Bratislava operation to include Brussels, DHL is diversifying shipment flows across multiple European hubs while creating additional capacity to accommodate growing cargo volumes.
