9 New Routes Added at BTS in Early June: To Zadar, Skiathos, and 7 More
04. 06. 2025 – With the arrival of summer, new regular flight routes are being introduced at M. R. Štefánik Airport. Today, the airline Ryanair is launching a new regular route from Bratislava to Zadar, Croatia, and starting tomorrow, it will also begin direct regular flights to the Greek island of Skiathos.
In total, the Czech airline Smartwings will begin operating seven regular seasonal routes from June. Additionally, regular flights to Tel Aviv in Israel were launched just a few days ago, and at the end of June, Norwegian will begin flying to Copenhagen.
“We are very pleased that thanks to the new route to Zadar, we can offer Slovak travelers direct flights from Bratislava to their favorite Croatian destination. Today, we welcome the first holidaymakers flying to Croatia, and tomorrow, the first passengers will depart to the Greek island of Skiathos. These two new summer routes by Ryanair are part of five new connections launched from Bratislava in the summer schedule – in April, Ryanair also started regular flights to Gdańsk in Poland, Bari in Italy, and to Milan Malpensa, Italy's main airport,” explained Dušan Novota, CEO and Chairman of the Board of M. R. Štefánik Airport.
Flights to Zadar will operate from Bratislava every Monday and Friday, making it ideal for a weekend getaway or a longer vacation. Skiathos will be served every Tuesday and Saturday starting June 3.
“This week, Ryanair is launching new summer routes from Bratislava to Skiathos and Zadar. With the departure of the first summer passengers, the 2025 summer season officially begins. Both routes will operate twice a week until the end of September. Slovak customers now have a broader selection of flights at the lowest fares, which they can book on Ryanair.com,” said Alicja Wójcik-Gołębiowska, Ryanair’s Communications Director for Central Europe and the Baltics.
Starting in June, airline Smartwings will also launch its regular summer routes. During the summer season – from June to September – travelers flying from Bratislava will be able to take direct flights to the Greek islands of Rhodes, Zakynthos, and Crete (Heraklion), to Burgas in Bulgaria, to Larnaca in Cyprus, and to the Spanish island of Mallorca. Tickets can be purchased via the airline’s website or through the airport website.
“With the regular summer routes by Smartwings, a total of 9 regular routes are being added to the airport’s network from the beginning of June. A new connection to Tel Aviv was introduced just last week, and from June 28, regular flights to Copenhagen with Norwegian will also begin,” added Dušan Novota.
The highest number of regular and charter flights from Bratislava this summer are scheduled to Antalya, Turkey (nearly 1,300 departures and arrivals), followed by Alghero on the Italian island of Sardinia, Hurghada in Egypt, and among the top destinations are also London, Milan, Larnaca in Cyprus, and Burgas in Bulgaria.
Altogether, passengers from Bratislava Airport will be able to choose from 40 regular routes to 37 destinations in 18 countries, operated by 7 airlines – Ryanair, Pegasus Airlines, Wizz Air, Smartwings, Norwegian, Air Cairo, and Arkia Israeli Airlines.
From June through September, more than 7,500 regular and charter flights are scheduled at Bratislava Airport, during which over 1 million passengers are expected to be served during the summer season.
In addition to regular flights, travel agencies will offer holidaymakers a choice of 43 charter destinations from Bratislava to 16 different countries, operated by 14 charter airlines. New additions in the offer include flights to Alanya in Turkey, to Cairo (destination Ain Sokhna with Hydrotour), and to El Alamein in Egypt.
