Bratislava – Kiev route four times per week

10. 01. 2013 - Airport Bratislava, the smart gateway to Central European region, announces new airline connection between Bratislava and Kiev in cooperation with Ukrainian carrier Air Onix. Airport Bratislava and Air Onix make the announcement at the occasion of the largest travel event in Vienna Ferien-Messe 2013, as the new connection is a strong message not only for Slovaks but also Austrians, Hungarians, Czechs as well as Ukrainian community within the region. Attractive price, convenient schedule and connecting flights to Simferopol and other domestic destinations beyond Kiev on board of two classes Boeing 737 challenges the monopoly of the two existing national carriers operating the route so far.

Air Onix, a traditional airline in terms of passenger’s services and flexible pricing policy, starts its regular operation from Bratislava to the main Kiev Zhulyany Airport from 1st March this year.  New direct connection between the two European capitals Bratislava and Kiev will be operated four times per week on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays.

“We are delighted that Air Onix will be accessing Central Europe just via Airport Bratislava already from 1st March. We are happy to see the market defining Airport Bratislava as the third and fourth runway for Vienna. It is a strong message for the region as well as our airline friends, tourists and guests,” said Tomáš Kika, Chief Commercial Officer of Airport Bratislava.

Yevheniy Khaynatskyy, Deputy General Director of Air Onix Airlines added: “We are happy to launch our first regular international route to European Union just to Bratislava. We appreciate the potential of the region as well as the airport services and modern infrastructure that through excellent connectivity with surrounding countries represents smart access to Central Europe.”

Through convenient connecting possibilities beyond Kiev such as Simferopol, the Bratislava – Kiev route opens new possibilities to explore Crimea and other regions while making it easily reachable now. The passengers will be offered to travel in premium (priority check-in, business lounge, separate cabin on board, extra legroom, special dishes, 2 pieces of checked baggage of max 23 kg, 2 pieces of cabin luggage max 7 kg) or economy class (4 types of catering, 1 piece checked baggage of max 23 kg, 1 piece of cabin luggage of max 7 kg) on board of Boeing 737 aircraft.

The new service is available for booking from Sunday 20th January on www.airportbratislava.sk, www.aironix.ua or through travel agencies and GDS channels.
