Bratislava Airport is ready for the first snow
12. 12. 2011 - Light snow cover or glazed frost.Airport Bratislava does not underestimate coming winter period and is well prepared for the first snow fall and temperatures below freezing. Even in cold winter, it offers to its passangers safety and comfort.
The end of year 2010 was very hectic for many European Airports, not only because of Christmas but also due to extremally weather conditions.
Airport Bratislava registered already on 1st December a snow fall at rate 10 cm per 24 hours.
At the same time, a shortage of de-icing liquid became evident in the whole Europe which limited activities at most airports.
Airport Bratislava belong to exceptions which were not affected so heavily.
Airport Bratislava does not underestimate the winter period and prepares itself each year very carefully for it.
It has at its disposal de-icing fluid on sufficient supplies and also special airport vehicules that are engaged especially at heavy snow falls.
